Spring is on it's way! Which means it is time to do some spring cleaning and organizing. A deep spring cleaning has become a tradition and is great for wellness and to breathe new life into your home! Here are some tips to get your home into tip-top shape for spring.
Remove water stains with lemon - For a natural clean for your faucets, use a half a lemon to clean those hard water stains off. The citric acid will naturally clean off all of those hard water stains.
Clean your Microwave - Cut up a lemon into halves, squeeze the juice into half a cup of water and drop the rinds into the mixture. Microwave for 3 minutes and then let stand for 5 minutes without opening the door. The steam will loosen the grime so you can easily wipe it clean.
Clean your Shower Head - Use White Vinegar to dissolve the mineral deposits that accumulate on the shower head over time. Fill a plastic bag with white vinegar, secure it over the shower head with a rubber band and leave it overnight to get rid of the build up. Just be sure to run the shower before you hop in so you don't smell like vinegar all day!
Clean your Sinks - Baking soda is a great tool for stainless steel sinks. Simply wet your sink and faucet, sprinkle with baking soda, and scrub with a sponge.
Clean your Windows - Mix 1/4 cup of white vinegar, 2 cups of water, and 2 teaspoons of liquid soap into a spray bottle. Spray the mixture onto the window and here's the kicker - use a newspaper to wipe clean. The ink acts as a mild abrasive and leaves you with a streak free shine.
Clean out your Fridge - This one feels so good after you complete it. Empty your fridge, take out all of the doors and shelves, and give it a good scrub. Throw out any of those old, expired condiments and organize it to your liking!
Sweep or vacuum under your large appliances and furniture pieces.
Go through your Closet - I know this is one is tough, but go through your clothing, old decor, etc and get rid of things you don't use. Channel your inner Marie Kondo... Does it bring you joy?
Always work from top to bottom - Always work from the ceiling down. This will send debris to the floor which is always easier to clean up with a vacuum or a broom.
If its warm enough, open your windows and doors and let the fresh air in while you clean. When the work is done, not only the sun will be shining but your home will be too.
